These two gents were cousins and founders of The St. Henry Bank. With a tremendous amount of planning and organization, the bank opened it’s first, headquarter location.

These two gents were cousins and founders of The St. Henry Bank. With a tremendous amount of planning and organization, the Romers opened their first headquarters location in 1905.
1916

The Bank Headquarters

The original headquarters of The St. Henry Bank still remains on E. Main Street although you may not recognize it. In the years to come, The St. Henry Bank would purchase today’s bank headquarters to expand the ever growing business.

1918

The Second Generation

William H. Romer
President 1918-1941

President 1941-1951
(Sister of W. Romer)
William Romer, son of J.H. Romer took over as President of The St. Henry Bank until his passing in 1941. William’s sister, Elizabeth Romer, proudly took the reigns and led the bank during the country’s Great Depression and World War II.
1924

The Renovation

An announcement published in The Coldwater Chronicle on May 9, 1924 invites St. Henry residents to visit the new banking home. The interior arrangement was dictated by the needs of the community, such as, double purpose rooms or modern security protections.

1951

The Third Generation

Leo Romer
President 1951-1974

Leo’s enlightenment from his father William and aunt Elizabeth enabled him to guide the bank through the Great Depression without any loss to its depositors or stakeholders.

1955

50th Anniversary

A newspaper feature of The St. Henry Bank celebrating their 50th anniversary.

1956

The Board Room

President, Leo Romer pictured in the center. Leo’s desk still remains within the bank today.

1974

The Fourth Generation

John F. Romer
CEO and Chairman of the board

John Romer lead the bank through a technological growth period replacing pen and paper with advanced computer systems.

1979

Technology Advancement

The women of The St. Henry Bank used the technology advancements to process transactions using the state of the art banking equipment offered in 1973.

The Fifth Generation

David Romer

Karla Romer Clune
1900-Current
(Daughter of J. F. Romer)
David and Karla, siblings and children of John F. Romer carry on the day-to-day operations of The St. Henry Bank. The Romer family continues to practice the tradition of personalized service with the highest banking integrity for over 100 years!
